Round Up: Another Blazer Edition

My last round up was during the winter so I wanted to share some of my more recent looks during the beautiful Spring weather that we are currently experiencing. Most of my warmer looks include blazers because, as you know (if you follow me on Instagram), I love a good blazer. Blazers are perfect for those cooler mornings and cold offices because you can take it off at any time, assuming you have an office-appropriate top underneath. ?

Disclaimer: Please excuse the wrinkles in this last look. I should have gotten my picture prior to sitting down all day. Anyway, it’s an over-sized button down with jeans and heels. One of my quick and easy go-to Casual Friday outfits.

How to Transition into Fall: Layers

With it being cool in the mornings and warming up quite nicely during the day (not to mention the icebox of an office I work in), dressing in layers is a must. I like that I can accomplish this by taking pieces from my Summer wardrobe and transitioning them into Fall.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may remember this outfit from the Summer. I fell in love with this adorable peplum tank top from Express, which is obviously sold out now but I have linked a couple of options from Poshmark. (If you’re lucky, they will be your size). I added a cute ruffled shirt underneath to make it office-appropriate and paired it with sandals and a pearl and gold necklace.

To transition this outfit into cooler days, I added this camel blazer from Forever 21, which I cannot find online, but I have linked another very cute option. I substituted the tan sandals for these blush pumps that I am obsessed with from Calvin Klein.

How to Incorporate Something New into Your Style

I am still not sure how to put my style into words. I just know it when I see it. There are certain items that I see where I am like “Ooh, yeah, that’s me. I gotta have that.” But then there are other times where I will be like “Oh, that’s cute” and keep moving because although it is cute, it is not my style. However, occasionally I like to take that “Oh, that’s cute” item and make it my style. It becomes a challenge and I love a good challenge.

This vintage-style blouse, for example, would not normally be a piece that would “fit my style.” The high neck and embroidery details on the front caught my eye. It was so white and flowy and feminine. Plus, it was my size and on clearance for only $5 so I couldn’t just let it stay there! That would have just been rude. (And I am not a rude person.)

The best way to incorporate a “different” item into your style is to pair it with pieces from your signature look. One of my signature looks consists of a cute shirt, skinny jeans, and cute heels. So to make this blouse my own, I paired it with a pair of my favorite skinny jeans and my favorite pink heels.

I love the embroidery. For me, this detail takes the blouse to another level. Very soft and feminine.

Had to get that sassy pose in! My mini-photographer had me being silly.
