Three Ways to Style Blush Pants

I love to buy pieces that I can style many different ways. These are the pieces on which I am willing to spend more than I normally would spend. Blush pants, for me, are the equivalent of black pants. They go with everything for every season, contrary to certain “rules of fashion” (whatever that means). This pair is from The Limited and is fully lined so they work for colder temps as well as warmer weather. I actually paid full price for these and that never happens. SN: I am a very cheap shopper, but I am a sucker for pink. Want me to buy it? Make it in pink and it’s sold. Anywho, I probably wear these pants to work every other week, all year long.  Each time I decide to wear them, I have envisioned a completely new look. Today, I am sharing with you 3 of my favorite ways to style these fabulous blush pants for work. I have also linked some options for blush pants.

My exact pants are no longer available since The Limited went out of business, but I found some other cute options here, here, and here.

How would you style your blush pants? Which one of the 3 styles presented is your fave?

Thanks for reading!

When to Invest in Trends

When it comes to clothes, I invest mostly into my work wardrobe because it’s what I wear most. I try to buy pieces that I can wear for both work and play. However, sometimes even when I’m wearing it for play, I still feel like work. When I’m going out for date night or a night out with the girls, I don’t want to feel like work. Although I’m not typically one for trends, this is where (inexpensive) trendy pieces can come in handy. As with anything I wear, when deciding on a trendy item, I make sure that:

  1. It fits my style. I love to take new looks and make it my own. It’s how I stay true to myself with my style.
  2. I am comfortable wearing it. For example, I don’t feel comfortable in revealing clothes so I wouldn’t buy something that I’d be pulling down, pulling up, or covering up all night.
  3. I feel confident wearing it. I have to feel good in whatever I am wearing. I feel secure in who I am. I feel empowered and it shows.  “A compliment is momentary; how you feel lasts all day.”

Off-the-shoulder (OTS) and statement-sleeve tops are currently on trend so when I saw this top, I thought it would be perfect for date night. Blush is one of my favorite shades of pink. And the bell sleeves with ruched detailing gave it the perfect flirty look I was going for. I paired it with jeans (because I refuse to wear anything else when I’m not at work unless absolutely necessary) and floral pumps. Rose gold accessories were created to be worn with blush, so I’m just following the rules.

How to Wear a Duster (Petites)

I like dusters a lot. On other people. There is something about them that makes a woman look so tall, classy, and effortlessly chic when wearing it. As a vertically-challenged petite woman, I imagined that they would make me look goofy and even shorter so I never bothered even trying one. Then I spotted this pink one. And honaaaaaay, let me tell you. I was sold. I was determined to make it work whenever, wherever, however I needed to.

Duster: here | Jeans: Target (old) | Pumps: Calvin Klein (here, similar)

The material on this one is very lightweight and cardigan-like. It has a belt that can be used to tie it closed in the front. I chose to tie it in the back and keep the front open.

It was very easy to style. Maybe it has something to do with it being pink. Anyway, I grabbed some camo skinny jeans and a simple white tee so as to not take away from the duster.  The heels are the key to me wearing this duster. They add a few inches so that it’s not so long. I would probably even go a tad bit higher with the heel (depending on how much walking will be involved) just to help with the flow of duster. But for this look, I chose these blush heels and belt and completed the look with gold accessories.

Now obviously, I could have passed this one up and looked for a duster that came in petite sizes. But who has time for that?

I think this duster will also be cute with shorts and heels (definitely heels) in warmer weather. Come on, warm weather!

Floral Bomber Jacket

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving spending time with family and eating lots of good food! For those that did some Black Friday shopping, I hope you had some great finds. There were some awesome deals out there. So awesome that I couldn’t even access a website to buy the stuff in my cart because the site was at capacity! I was so distraught. But anywho…

Floral is one of those prints that I love to play around with. There is so much that can be done with it to create such different looks. So to see this print on a bomber jacket? Yep, I had to have it. The more wear I will get out of something, the more I am willing to invest in it. This floral bomber jacket is one of my current favorites. Most people would prefer to wear a solid top under it since floral is a busy print. This will work just fine as it can be jazzed up several ways. However, I wanted to do something different with it. I opted for a striped tee under it and added a long turquoise necklace. Mixing prints can be tricky, but if done right, it can create fabulous looks, but that is a later post. I decided to keep the bottom simple with black skinny’s and blush lace-up pumps.

I like that the jacket is lightweight for warmer temperatures, but allows room for thicker pieces underneath. Right now, it’s almost 80 degrees outside so I would only wear a tee or tank underneath. When it gets cooler, I can wear a sweater underneath it with a scarf to keep warm.

Fall Pastels and a Cool JORD Contest

Most people think of pastels for Spring. All the cute Easter dresses and suits in the soft pinks, purples, blues, and yellows. I love pastel colors. I love them so much that I can’t limit my pastel pieces to just Spring time. Nope. As a matter of fact, I wear all colors all year round. But I digress. Pastels.

Besides, my favorite pants are a pastel pink. Here I paired it with a brown sweater for a nice Fall contrast. Then brought it all together with this heather gray blazer with the pastel pink lining in the cuffs. And of course a leopard pop. Yall know I love a good pop.

Speaking of pops, get into this pop of turquoise that is the fabulousness on my wrist! JORD was gracious enough to send me this watch and it is the perfect Fall accessory. I’ve been incorporating it into every other outfit.

The watch is fabulous but I went crazy for the packaging!

Excuse the protective covering still on the face, but isn’t the packaging the cutest? They had me at the wooden box.

But it’s really is a cool watch. The 100% wood band is so unique. The snap closure makes it easy to put on and take off. And they sized it perfectly for my tiny wrist. (That never happens). Woop! I chose this particular watch because of the turquoise face.  For any time I feel like a pop of turquoise. 😊

You can get one too! They have both men and women watches. As a matter of fact, JORD is doing a $75 gift certificate giveaway. All you have to do is click HERE and enter the giveaway. Even if you don’t win, everyone gets a $20 JORD gift certificate just for entering so it makes no sense NOT to enter! You have until 11/27. Do it!

Passed With Flying Watercolors

Hey yall! I apologize for the lack of posts over the past couple of weeks. I have been studying for a certification test and I set a very aggressive deadline for myself so I was forced to sit down and get it done. Good news is that the test was on Thursday and I passed! 🙌 🙌 🙌

So now I am back with a vengeance. But not really. Lol. I am back with the full view of this blouse that I posted on Instagram a few weeks ago and again earlier this week. I love the watercolor print of the blouse. It is so different and colorful. Having blush pink as one of the colors made buying this top a no-brainer. The colors combined with the peplum make it so soft and feminine. It is also lightweight and flowy which is perfect for the Spring weather.

Top: H&M | Necklace: Express | Jeans: Citizens of Humanity | Handbag: Steve Madden (TJMaxx sold out, but another option here) | Shoes: Calvin Klein (here and here)

Sooooo, the best part about this blouse is that it is another kids’ section purchase! (If you missed the first one, check it out here.) Yup, I spotted it for my daughter but they did not have her size so she missed out. But they had mine. 😜

The shoes and handbag are two of my current favorites. The shoes are a blush snakeprint with rosegold details. I will do a feature post on them later, but they go perfect with the bag. I have been carrying this bag everyday because I am obsessed. Funny thing is that there is nothing in it, but it’s cute though. I mean, I do not think I have enough junk to fill this bag even if I wanted to. It is huge, but I love it. And both the shoes and the bag with this blouse is perfection, if I must say so myself.
